| 2007 | The BEST Summer of My Entire Life |

Yup. The best! With the help of God, I have finally conquerred the nicotene addiction & that is the catalyst responsible for my feeling better than ever. Gradually I have gotten my lungs back, which has allowed me to redevelop atheletic stamina. I'd truly forgotten how very much I LOVE aerobics & steps classes. Yeah, I'm diggin' it! And the past few weeks I've also rediscovered how exhilerating bicycle riding is--I've been out peddling nearly every day recently. For the first time in years & years, my skin doesn't glow in the dark! Ha--I mean I am actually kissed by the sun with a tan from my afternoon biking adventures.
The dogs are loving that I am able to take longer & more frequent walks. My husband & I hit the farmers' market weekly; enjoying a healthy summer diet choked full of wonderful fresh produce. The weather has never been so fine. It even rained yesterday! That's an historical note, because it has never rained in San Jose on July 18th for as long as they've been keeping weather data records. OK, it was only 1/100th of an inch, but it counts & it was a true treat.
I'm spending more & more time off the computer... spending more & more time with friends, going places, doing things. Even doing some reading! Our back yard garden has never looked lovlier. Ah yeah, I'm happy, truly happy. I don't remember ever being able to say that before. But I'm not going to sit on my laurels, because I have so much more I aim to do yet. :) |

(: My puppies are such patient cooperative fun models. :)
Well, I did it! I've ordered my very first greeting cards that wasn't just using a jpg on flickr via Zazzle. It nearly broke my pea brain trying to figure out so many things, but next time (yes, I hope there'll be a next time), then it will be loads easier. It felt sooo GOOD to hit that 'confirm order' button!!! [ gigantic sigh of relief ]
Now to get the annual holiday newsletter pulled together before the cards arrive. Our tree has been up since Sunday evening & still only has lights & the star topper — boxes of ornaments scattered all about the living room. I hope to haul empty boxes up to the attic yet today.
Oh my dog! I still have shopping yet to do!!! But it's all coming together now. Yeah!!! It's overall been a very good year. I have big hopes & plans for 2007. *does a little dance* :)
Anyway, if anybody reads this... Happy Holidaze to you & yours! Best wishes for the new year & always. |

Shh! Don't tell him his hat looks rather girlish -- he doesn't care nor need to know!
 Don't they look entirely thrilled?
OK, now that we've brought out the cake, things are looking up!
Liver pate blended with cream cheese atop a sugar-free carrot cake. Oh yeah, a huge hit with the K9 boys!
♥ Gabriel and Elroy, my handsome sweet boys. ♥ |

This elementary school field is just one of the nearby places we take our two dogs to go run their brains out. They are both very high energy dogs & go a bit mad whenever they don't get out somewhere to run full steam every day or two. I can't begin to describe the pure joy it is to see them running full stop, being exactly what they were built to do.
Now that I've finally joined a gym & getting back into a routine (after many years of sitting on my butt), I am beginning to appreciate once again that endorphine rush I'm certain my two dogs crave every single day. Well, I will tell you, the first ten minutes on the eliptical machine are absolute tortuous, as my legs complain furiously & every single minute seems like an hour, but once I get past those inital ten minutes, I'm soaring, especially when I get near an hour's time, then I am almost giddy. Weird it is. ;-) The upside is I think the exercise is bringing me out of my subtle depression (I tried to deny & ignore) that I've been going through the past couple of years. And I guess that is why my dogs look mopey when they miss more than to two days getting to run. |

Roses from our 22nd anniversary. My blue eyed 'baby'. Rocky's last offspring, Boris. Sadly, Rocky died July 22nd on a 106F-degree day. She'd been hanging around since 1997. I will miss her greatly, but she left behind several youngsters for me to take care of, who also bring me smiles, too. |

On the other hand I've never enjoyed running, even when I was quite fit & did run in a lot of 10Ks. Seems like another lifetime ago now. I do need to get up off my butt again & find some kind of exercise I can enjoy. Our evening walks that used to be nightly have been hit & miss too much recently, partly because husband gets up early to jog with the dogs & then doesn't have the energy when he gets home late at night. At least my friend down the street is getting me out to walk two mornings a week now. That's a start in a good direction, I guess. A far cry from the yesterdays when I used to hit high impact aerobic classes twice daily, but maybe I'll find a happy balance eventually? At least the dogs are getting out! ;-) That keeps them happy. |

This was at one of the few beaches that allow dogs at all any more. You can't tell by my photos, but the beach was jammed with tourists this past Sunday. We were lucky to find a wee stretch where we could let the dogs run a little while off leash. |
